Job Purpose
The role is responsible for the facilitation of smooth operations of MFZ through timely payments.
Job Responsibilities
Key Outputs & Responsibilities: -
- Ensuring payments, amounts and records are correct.
- Recording and filing cash transactions.
- Enter financial transactions into internal databases
- Submit payments to the bank on a timely basis after signatories have signed all bank instructions.
- Bank reconciliation.
- Processing expense requests for the accountant to approve.
- Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
- Ensure that all payments are filed appropriately.
- Perform related work as assigned
- Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.
- Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
- Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
Requirements:
Required Attributes
- Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
- Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.
- Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.
- Competent IT skills, particularly proficiency with spreadsheet software.
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors; handle sensitive, confidential information
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting & finance related environment
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance or relevant field (certified by ZAQA)
- Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
- Experience in the financial sector will be an added advantage
